New students might be interested in the FAQ on the wiki
If you have any questions about the team, or would like to join the ride list, feel free to email the team e-mail account.
Our website has two parts. In addition to this traditional section, there is a Wiki — which can be edited by any Dartmouth cyclist. It often has more up to the minute information than this page. See the navigation links in the sidebar.
The Nashua Adult Learning Center is hosting the Second Annual Ride to Read cycle fundraiser on Sunday, September 14, 2008. Rain or Shine. The event begins and ends at the Adult Learning Center, 4 Lake Street, Nashua. Proceeds to benefit the literacy programs offered at the Adult Learning Center. For more information, see the registration page.
Easterns (L'Enfer Du Nord)
We are very excited to be hosting Easterns this year. The race flyer is available here. Questions can be directed to Erik Newman or Captain Jonathan "Rudy" Awerbuch (questions about accommodations can be sent to Jennifer Stebbins).

4/11/2008 Call for Volunteers
Dartmouth is hosting this year's Eastern Collegiate Cycling Championships and we need LOTS of volunteers. Volunteers will marshal races (team time trial, Webster Ave crit and Moosilauke road race), assist with registration, drive pace cars and just help out as needed.
This is a great time for friends and family to get involved with a really exciting event. Ask you mom, your boyfriend, your roommate. We'll need them all! Alumni, think about coming up that weekend!
Here are the details:
When: Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27.
Where: One day on Dartmouth's campus and another up in Warren, NH
(transportation will be arranged for volunteers who need a lift)
You can expect some great bike racing, lots of people in spandex and boys from UVM on roller blades!
If you're interested in volunteering, email Lauren Gifford
11/10/2007 Old News
Dan Dimancescu '64 has sent us pictures of a race hosted at Dartmouth in 1963. Find out more on at the Team History wiki page. Hopefully some cross news will be posted soon.9/25/2007 Summer Cycling Accomplishments
Classes start tomorrow, so it seems a fine time to mention some of our team member's summer cycling accomplishments. In no particular order:
Dartmouth had a good showing at the Green Mountain Stage Race. Jonathan Awerbuch reports.
Dartmouth students and recent alumni dominated GMSR. Devin Knickerbocker '05 won the Cat 4 prologue. Bing Knight '05 won the cat 3 prolouge. Mackenzie Knowles-Coursin won the cat 4 circuit race in dominating style, boldly jumping off the front for a solo final 3k. Dartmouth '10 Eric Schildge won the field sprint (behind a seven man break) in the Pro Category of the circuit race, beating out some of the strongest sprinters in the North East. Tim Clement took second in the brutal road race in category 3, combined with consistent performance on the other stages left him 4th on GC. And Toby Marzot '09, thanks to solid finishes on all four stages, scored 14th place on GC in the brutal Pro category.
Jennifer Stebbins won the Women 3/4 overall points jersey at the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic after stong performances over all four days.
David Eypper won the hardtail class of the Whiteface Downhill race.
Finally, Eric Schildge was at it again and placed 10th in the Univest Grand Prix crit -- Univest is a 2-day international UCI level event. Not only did that make him the fastest under 23 rider, it placed him as the top American. That even gets him some serious ink and a quote in a press release. When reached for comment, he added "it was a great way to finish off the season, and I'm looking forward to racing with Dartmouth next spring."
But before road racing starts again next spring, we've got mountain biking then cyclocross. The Dartmouth Green Monster mountain bike race is coming up this weekend. Stay tuned for results
8/17/2007 Info for Students New to Dartmouth Cycling
Freshmen don't arrive for several weeks, and classes don't start until 9/26 (what's up with that?), but our ever vigilant captain has put together a FAQ for students new to Dartmouth Cycling. Head over to the wiki to take a gander. We're looking forward to new faces this September.
6/2/2007 End of Term
The end of the school year is almost here, and collegiate racing is done until mountain biking starts up next fall. Updates will likely be few and far between until then since the Webmaster isn't going to be around — although many people will be, including sophomores and some graduated seniors who don't know how to leave. The wiki may have more timely updates.
5/13/2007 Nationals Wrap Up
In today's crits, Jennifer Stebbins and Eric Schildge finished 4th and 8th respectively. Combined with his 7th place finish yesterday, Eric placed second in the Division 2 Individual Omnium only two points out of first. With these strong results, the team moved in to second place (from third) in the Division 2 Team Omnium. Congratulations team! Detailed reports will be posted soon. Complete results and links to commentary and pictures are 2 news items below.

5/1/2007 Vassar Tour of the Hudson River Valley Eastern Conference Championships report
Dartmouth ended the ECCC season in style with two wins. Eric Schildge's race report is on the wiki. Next up is Nations, on May 10-13.
Your eyes do not deceive you — that is Leon Maurer crossing the line first in the D2 crit (click to enlarge)
4/18/2007 Army report
Race reports by Eric Schildge and Lauren Gifford are on the wiki. This weekend's race at UNH has be cancelled because of damage due to the Nor'easter -- some team members will be racing at the Turtle Pond Circuit Race instead.
4/9/2007 UVM report
A race report is on the wiki. Here's a video (courtesy of Sally Smith) of what the team was up to on Sunday when the road race was cancelled due to snow.
4/3/2007 Beanpot Report
The official report is on the wiki. I'll post some pictures there when I get my camera back.
3/27/2007 Bucknell Report
Update: Kevin's race report is now posted.
On the return trip from Asheville, we stopped by Bucknell to own up some races, and we were pretty darn successful. More detailed reports will be up later, so I'll keep the text brief and throw in some snazzy photos.
The weekend started with the team time trial, but we arrived late and didn't have much time to prepare and the results weren't spectacular. That's all I'll say about that.
The road race was another story. Things got off to a good start with Erik Newman taking 10th in the Men C category. That was followed by some aggressive riding by Darrell Hoy, who spent the better part of the Men B race in one break or another — finally finishing in 12th. Not one to buck the trend, Jennifer Stebbins also got in a break and finished 6th in Women A.
Finally, in the Men A race, Toby "Breakaway" Marzot decided to live up to his name and — you guessed it — got in an early break.
That's right. He won. Solo. BAM!
The crit was on Sunday and webmaster Leon Maurer claimed the first top 10 finish of the day (and also of his illustrious cycling career) by taking 6th in the Men D race. This was followed by a 8th by Laura Nielsen in Women B and 7th by Jenn in Women A.

Jenn got bored of the riders in her group and struck out on her own, and stayed away until the end (click to enlarge)
However, the best was saved for last, where Kevin Wolfson and Eric Schildge got themselves in a break which lapped the field!
Once it was all back together, Kevin and Eric continued right through to the front (click to enlarge)
Eric took 3rd and Kevin took 4th. Congratulations both.
It was a good weekend for sure — good work team. Next weekend in the ever-popular Boston Beanpot race. Be on the lookout for a large contingent from Dartmouth.
3/18/2007 Spring Break Update
Spring break is awesome and ongoing, so don't expect much in the way of updates. Here's a picture to show how sweet the riding is -- it's required by law to have a good time.
3/13/2007 Philly Update
See Eric Schildge's race report. Not many team members made attended because of finals. But that's behind us now — spring break starts tomorrow! Yay 16 hour drive to Asheville, NC! Here are the results:

3/6/2007 Rutgers Report
Update: Kevin's more detailed race report is now available.
Last weekend was the start of the ECCC road season — beginning with an individual time trial. Despite a delayed start and shortened course due to ice on the road (which was beneath the Raritan River only a day before due to heavy rain). Eric Schildge clocked the fastest time for Dartmouth at 6:09.24 — good for 10th in Men A. Another notable result was by Kelly Everhart who took 3rd in the Women Intro category in her first race.
Following the ITT was a Criterium in Rutger's Livingston campus. Despite many attempts, usually with a Dartmouth rider involved, no break got away in the Men A race and it came down to a field sprint with two top 10 results by Kevin Wolfson and Eric — the model of consistency.
The following day saw a circuit race, which was basically the crit course with a big rectangle stuck on. This was to prove more to our team's liking, with many team members taking the initiative and attacking (even the webmaster was briefly off the front) — however nothing came of the actions in the Men C and D races. Choosing a more prudent strategy, Kelly chilled out in the group during the Women Intro race and sprinted to a win
Kelly sprints to victory in the Women's Intro race -- it may not look like she felt the hurt, but the competition sure did (click to enlarge)
Finally, in the Men A race, Toby Marzot found himself in a two person break, pretty much from the get go.
Capt'n Rudy keeps watch in the main group (click to enlarge)
He was eventually joined by Eric and others and they managed to build up a lead and stay away.
The break fractured on the last lap with Toby in the first group and Eric in the second. Toby sprinted to second place while Eric sprinted to second in his group (9th place).
It was a successful weekend despite a smaller than usual group of riders (due to foreign study, skiing, and general end of term work) — good work everyone. Finals are next weekend, so an even smaller group of riders will be heading down to the races in Philadelphia. Then there's spring break in NC and the Bucknell weekend. Mark your calendars.
3/5/2007 Rutgers Update Coming
It was a great start to the season on a weekend that included snow, t-shirt weather, a win by a first timer, a near win by a veteran, and lots of flatulence. I don't have pictures to post or race reports to plagiarize yet, but I should soon. Until then, enjoy the results.

1/19/2007 Toby Goes to Cyclocross World Championships
That's right! Our very own Toby Marzot is going to compete in the Cyclocross World Championships (This isn't his first trip there, as evidenced by his profile.) His race isn't until Saturday the 27th, but he's in Europe already for a small warm up race -- round 11 of the Cyclocross World Cup series in Hoogerheide, Netherlands. Worlds will be held in Hooglede, Belgium. Best of luck!
Update: A wiki page has been set up with more information on Toby's European escapades.
1/5/2007 Clothing is In
The clothing order is in. If you are on campus, pick it up next Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8 in the basement of Robo.
12/23/2006 Belated Cyclocross Nationals News
Dartmouth had a great showing at last week's Cyclocross Nationals. Three team members — Toby Marzot, Kevin Wolfson, and Jennifer Stebbins — competed in two sets of races — U23 and collegiate. In the U23 races, Toby and Kevin took 8th and 15th while Jen captured 4th.

In the collegiate race Jen was 4th overall and 1st in Division II — which earned her a sweet stars and stripes Jersey.
On Sunday, Toby and Kevin placed 6th and 12th in the collegite race — bringing Dartmouth in to 2nd place in DII (behind MIT which had something of a numerical advantage). Also see Kevin's excellent race report.
12/12/2006 Final Verge New England Championship Cyclo-Cross Series and ECCC Cyclocross Racing Update
Dartmouth Cycling has taken the DII ECCC Cyclocross Championship! Dartmouth riders swept the season overalls in nearly every category. Toby Marzot and Kevin Wolfson tied for the win in the Mens A season overall rankings. Jen Stebbins is the Women's B Season Overall Champion, and Jon Awerbuch won the overall competition in the Men's B standings. The results will be posted shortly on the conference website.
The last two events of both series were held this weekend — the W.E. Stedman Grand Prix on Saturday and the NECCS Caster's Grand Prix on Sunday. Toby Marzot rode well and held on to the U23 series leader jersey, with a sizable lead over second place.
Team members Jonathan Awerbuch and Jennifer Stebbins and alum Stephen Weller also took part in both events. The former two both got one 4th and one 5th place in the two events (in B Men and B Women, respectively), with a little bit of field lapping action by Jennifer in the second race. Unfortunately, cyclingnews hasn't posted pictures, so you'll have to take my word for it.
12/8/2006 End of the Term and Clothing Update
Finals and the fall term ended on Wednesday, so everyone is recovering and few raced last weekend. Cyclocross nationals are little more than a week away, but after that things may be pretty quiet until Dartmouth starts up again.
However, I have it from the highest authority that this year's clothing will be distributed on campus in the first few weeks of January. Alumni and Friends' orders will be shipped then.
If you didn't place an order, we have extras in some sizes. You can learn more about our garb on the clothing page. Email us for more info.
12/02/2006 - Cyclocross Update and Inaugural News Post
What better way to get this site started than with some victories?
For starters, Toby Marzot is currently the U23 (cyclingnews.com) Verge cyclocross series leader with two more races left.
The U23 national race is the 16th, and the collegiate race is the next day, so be ready for him to tear it up.
Also having cyclocross success is team captain Jonathan Awerbuch, who won the Bay State Cyclocross Men's B race. Ryan Kelly of UNH has additional commentary and pictures
Congratulations both.
