WRAC-L: The Women's Resource and Action Centers List

WRAC-L is a forum for discussion about and sharing of resources regarding issues of significance to women's centers. The list is open to the staff and affiliates of women's centers, whether community-based or associated with schools, colleges or universities.

WRAC-L is a subscription list, which means that a message sent to the list by a subscribed member is automatically distributed to all list members. Members can reply to the entire list or to individuals. Xenia Markowitt, Director of the Dartmouth College Center for Women and Gender is the list manager, and it is housed and operated by the Dartmouth College Computing Service.

WRAC-L is not an all purpose women's issues list. It is intended to support the outreach, advocacy, and counseling activities of women's centers and to facilitate communication and networking between them. Volume is comparatively low, 10-20 messages per week, and approximately 250 subscribers from women's centers across the U.S. participate.

WRAC-L is, as far as we know, the first and only resource of its kind.

To subscribe to the list, send an email message from your primary email account to: listserv@dartmouth.edu. In the body of the message type:

  • subscribe wrac-l [your name]

You can leave the subject line blank. You must use the name that is recognized by the email account from which you send the message. You will receive a welcome confirmation and a user's guide once your subscription has been accepted.
