The Dartmouth College Sexual Abuse Awareness Program (SAAP) is housed in the Health Promotion Department of the College Health Services. The Program is responsible for:

individual support and advocacy for students who have experienced sexual abuse, and their friends and allies
advising the Sexual Abuse Peer Advisors (SAPA) and co-advising Mentors Against Violence (MAV)
providing presentations and facilitation to campus groups and organizations
coordinating Sexual Assault Awareness Week/Month and other programming activities

Sexual Abuse Awareness Program (SAAP)

The mission of the Dartmouth College Sexual Abuse Awareness Program, established in 1989, is threefold:

To serve the needs of those effected by sexual abuse, relationship violence, and other forms of harassment. This includes emergency advocacy, assistance in obtaining medical care, assistance navigating Dartmouth College judicial and/or Hanover Police reporting procedures, and other support as needed.
To educate the Dartmouth College community about sexual abuse and its prevention, and to empower students to act towards the elimination of sexual abuse.
To address issues of policy and procedure through advocacy for survivor concerns.

Sexual Abuse Awareness Program (SAAP) Coordinator

The program coordinator can provide confidential support and guidance to any student and all service providers involved in student care. The SAAP Coordinator is the primary contact for all questions specific to sexual abuse.
