Travelers using their personal vehicles to drive to the airport will be reimbursed only for miles in excess of the traveler’s normal commute to the office. If travel to the airport on a non-workday is necessary, reimbursement will be made for the entire distance. Parking at the airport will be reimbursed, but travelers are urged to use long-term, lower-cost parking lots when available. If public transportation or taxi service to and from the airport is available at a lower cost (due to the high cost of parking in most cities and airports), the traveler is encouraged to take advantage of these savings.
When departing from Logan Airport in Boston, you should contact the College Travel Office for a possible alternative to parking at the Logan terminal. The Travel Office may be able to make parking arrangements that will be convenient and at a lower cost, resulting in significant savings over the cost of parking at the airport terminal. Once at the destination, the traveler is reminded that hotel shuttles may be available free of charge or for a nominal fee.
