The mission of the Careers for the Common Good program is to empower
and support students in the pursuit of values-driven work opportunities in the
not-for-profit, public, and private sectors.
CFCG Options include:
Held at least six times a year (October/November, January/February and
April/May), Common Good dinners help highlight opportunities where one can find
values-driven work in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors.
These student facilitated dinners feature two guests who meet with a dozen
students over dinner to discuss their career paths. Dinner topics to date
have included:
Receive targeted blitzes several times per term related either to
Psychology/Human Services or Not-for-Profit/Social Entrepreneurship.
To sign up: Update your MonsterTRAK 'User Profile' in the 'Educations
& Interests Information' section under 'Career Center Services Desired' to
receive targeted blitzes for information on entry-level jobs, internships,
fellowships, funding, workshops/programs, useful links, job descriptions, and
employers.
Each year, a new guide in the series will be rolled out to inspire
discussion between parents and sons/daughters and to address questions that
naturally arise when contemplating career options. Guides to date
include:
- Dartmouth College Not-For-Profit Career Fair:
Historically, the Not-for-Profit Fair has been the centerpiece for Career
Services' Careers for the Common Good initiatives. Part of the Employer
Connections Fair held annually each fall in the Top of the Hop, the Fair brings
to campus a wide variety of educational institutions, environmental
organizations, government agencies, etc.

Career Fairs: Idealist hosts career fairs across the United
States throughout the year.
Idealist.org is now offering graduate school fairs featuring a range of
degree programs including Education, Social Work, Public Policy, Public
Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Interest Law, and Socially
