Researching Employers - Business-NonProfit-Sports

Purpose:

BUSINESS:

Suggestion: Search at least 2 of the databases listed below when researching employers.

• Factiva - Media articles written about a company. Sourced from newswires, newspapers, magazines and trade publications. Includes financial profiles for companies.  To access, go to http://researchguides.dartmouth.edu/business.  Select from database list.  Must be used on Dartmouth Campus or via VPN Client.
• Global Business Browser – Has industry information and company overviews including financial data, market research reports, analyst reports, SWOT analysis, significant developments, strategic initiatives, etc. (news section is small) Can build a list of companies by industry. Can search executives by key word.  (Password-protected – Call 646-2215 for login).
• ISI Emerging Markets - Search internationally for companies in a specific emerging market country. Can export to Excel. Includes industry profiles.  Must be used on Dartmouth Campus or via VPN Client.

NON-PROFIT/GOVERNMENT:

• GuideStar Premium (U.S. only) – Information about the missions, programs, and finances of more than 1.7 million organizations including public charities, private foundations and nonprofit trade associations. Can also search for individuals.  Must be used on Dartmouth Campus or via VPN Client.
• Global Business Browser – Information includes nonprofit organizations & government offices overviews, analyst reports, SWOT analysis, significant developments, strategic initiatives, etc. (news section is small) *Password-protected – Call 646-2215 for login.

SPORTS:

• Sports Business Research Network – Includes market research and news articles over10,000 sports organizations and 500 professional teams.  Must be used on Dartmouth Campus or via VPN Client.
