Topics Include:

  • Overview of law school admissions process
  • Financing a legal education
  • Introduction of BC Law, experiential opportunities, academic programs and more
  • Tour of law school
  • Status of the legal market and employment opportunities
  • Law student panel
  • Lunch with law students and faculty

 

1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

Employer Site Visit #1:  Mintz Levin Law Firm (public & nonprofit law)

Topics include:

  • Tour of organization
  • Panel presentation by Dartmouth alumni on public & nonprofit law opportunities and experiences
3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Employer Site Visit #2:  Foley Hoag (private law)

Topics Include:

  • Tour of organization
  • Panel presentation/guest speaker by Dartmouth alumni in the private sector of law
~ 6:00 p.m.

Alumni/Parent Networking Reception:  Choate Hall & Stewart Law Firm

Topics Include:

  • Guest Speaker Brian Kelly ’83, Assistant US District Attorney who led the Whitey Bulger Prosecution
  • Meet Dartmouth alumni and parents in the legal sector

Program Goals:

  • Learn about the range of positions available in the law
  • Observe the differences between organizations including: office dynamics, culture, layout of the organization/facility, dress, interaction between colleagues, etc.
  • Make connections and establish relationships
  • Enhance and strengthen your networking skills

Why the program was created:

  • Opportunity to explore career areas of interest
  • Get an insider's view of professional work environments
  • Network and seek advice and guidance from alumni and parents in the field
