Logan International Airport

  • Boston's Logan Airport is 2 1/2 hours from Hanover by car and is serviced by most major airlines. Information is available online from QuickAID.

Ground Travel

Hanover is served by two interstate highways, I-89 and I-91. Hanover is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Boston, 1 1/2 hour drive from Manchester, NH and 5 hours from New York City.

Driving Instructions

  • From the Boston area (~2.5 hours): Take I-93 north to I-89 north at Concord, N.H. Get off I-89 at Exit 18 in Lebanon, N.H. onto Route 120. (A sign says that it is the exit for Dartmouth College.) Bear right off the exit, heading north on Rt.120 into Hanover. 4.1 miles from the exit, Rt. 120 forks at a traffic light.  Bear left at the fork, following Lebanon Street to the second traffic light.  Turn left at the light, onto Main Street.  At the next traffic light, 63 South Main Street (Bank of America Building) will be on your right. Career Services is on the 2nd Floor.
  • From New York (~5 hours), southern New England and points south: Take I-91 north to exit 13 at Norwich, Vt. Bear right off the exit, across the Ledyard Bridge spanning the Connecticut River. Continue up the hill (West Wheelock Street) to the top of the hill and to the traffic light in the center of town - nine-tenths of a mile from the interstate exit. On your left at the light is the Dartmouth Green; to your right is the Hanover Inn.  Make a right turn onto Main Street.  At the second light, 63 South Main Street (Bank of America Building) will be on your right.  Career Services is on the 2nd Floor.
  • From Burlington, VT (~1.5 hours): Take I-89 south to I-91 north in White River Junction, Vt. Take I-91 north to exit 13 at Norwich, Vt. Continue as if coming from New York (see above).
  • From Lebanon Airport (15 minutes) Exiting the airport, turn right onto the airport road and follow it until reaching 12-A. Turn right onto 12-A and keep to the right hand lane. Get on I-89 south and follow it to I-91 north in White River Junction, Vt. Continue as if coming from New York (see above).
  • From Manchester Airport (1.5 hours): Take I-293 South to I-93 North. Take I-93 North to I-89 North at Concord, N.H. Get off I-89 at Exit 18 in Lebanon, N.H. onto Route 120. (A sign says that it is the exit for Dartmouth College.) Rental cars are available through Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National. Taxi service is available at the Lebanon airport. Fares are generally around $15 to campus.
