- Biology 16, Ecology – Spring
2010 at “10”. This is an
introductory course covering the fundamental concepts and approaches of
ecology.
- Biology 29/128, Introductory Biostatistics
– Winter 2010 at “12” with labs on Monday or Tuesday afternoons. A
first course in statistics with joint undergraduate/graduate lectures and
weekly computer laboratories in JMP (Bio 29) or R (Bio 128).
- Biology 265, Journal Club in
Microbial Ecology & Environmental
Microbiology
– Winter 2010, time TBA.
Interdisciplinary reading group for graduate students, postdocs,
and faculty from Biology, Microbiology & Immunology, Earth Sciences,
and Engineering.
OTHER COURSES
- Biology 22, Methods in
Ecology – Summer quarter at “12” with labs on Monday afternoons.
This course is targeted at students between their sophomore and junior
years who have had Biology 16 (Ecology) and are looking to learn more
about how ecology works on a day-to-day basis. We emphasize the interplay of
observations, experiments, and modeling as different approaches to
answering ecological questions.
