The Ivy League Bronze medal winners standing around the minivan, driven to New Haven and back, single-handedly by Stephen Spitz '09 (unpictured). Time behind the wheel: ~7 hours. "It was worth it to see their smiling faces."
As the team admires the trophy table glittering in the sun, word spreads that Harvard and Brown aren't showing up. Would Dartmouth be assured of a trophy? Landon Brown '10 smirks at the thought of some guaranteed hardware. However, the Yale captain soon showed up and rained on the parade.
Zach Rioux '10 and Sam Dow '10 enjoy a hearty breakfast courtesy of Yale Club Tennis.
Robs Hoffman '10 celebrates after winning a match. In the background Yale security examines a ball used in the match. Despite vehement accusations by his opponent, no magnets were found, and Robs' name was cleared.
Landon Brown '10 dons his protective armor before entering in to battle. It was not enough.
Rioux attempts the rarely seen, sideways racquet frame shot. It went for a winner up the line.
Dow give his opponent a first-hand look at why he has been known as "the beast from the east".
For lunch we decided to fulfill our sponsorship obligation to Krauszer's Food Stores. Landon can't believe his luck; the manager signed him to a billboard deal for when we come back next year.
No idea.
