What is CLIPPEN?

The Computer Learning and Information Processing Program Electronic Neighborhood is a collection of teachers, students and resources linked together for the purpose of revitalizing urban and rural public school education. The Electronic Neighborhood uses the resources of Dartmouth College and of the Internet to enable teachers and to prepare students in the use of analytical and communications tools of the 21st century. It allows students to work with students in other classrooms across the country and across the the world to conduct research and share information. Teachers, being the originators of the ideas for the collaborative classroom projects, function as skillful coaches and guides for their students. Through their participation in the Electronic Neighborhood, teachers become expert users of technology for the enhancement of learning, and also serve as mentors and trainers of other teachers.
