Map for Week 10

25 May: TA Elizabeth and Professor Christesen Reporting: While the students are off writing their research papers, we are busy exploring new and unknown areas of Greece. Today we hiked the deepest gorge in the world: the Vikos Gorge in the Epirus area of Northern Greece. The hike was an eight hour adventure: first descending 900 meters into the gorge, followed by six hours of climbing over boulders and rocks in the riverbed of the gorge, and finally ending with a one hour scramble up the mountainside to Megala Papingo, where we collapsed in a local bar and waited for our ride back to Monodendri. The scenery was fantastic, to say the least. Enjoy the photos.
