Week Nine: May 15

Map for Week 9

15 May: Liz and Evan Reporting very briefly: We kicked off the day by walking to the Benaki Museum, where Evan gave his not much-anticipated lecture about representations of the Greek landscape in the 19th century. Afterward, we subway-ed it to the Epigraphic Museum, where Randy told us about the City Dionysia. Then we went back to the Achilleus, got our bags, and took a bus to the airport, where security hassled Sarah Jones, who tried to carry a giant knife through the metal detector (seriously). After brief flight to Rhodes, we took taxis to the hotel in Rhodes town, where we received an informative lecture about the Crusades. Then, food and sleep. FIN.

Evander, Evander, co-leader dearest to mine heart.

15 May: Randy gives his ISP report in the epigraphic museum.

15 May: Randy continues his presentation.

15 May: Waiting for the bus which supposedly would take us to Rhodes Town.

15 May: Waiting for the bus.

15 May: Still waiting for the bus...

15 May: Funny we didn't note the "sign" for the bus stop.

15 May: Taking advantage of the hotel's pool for a refreshing post-lecture dip.
