Ah, Greece! How did I love thee?

Let me count the ways.

I loved waking up in the wee hours of the morning to the prospect of a breakfast of unknown quality. I loved watching Katie run into the breakfast room at 7:29, one minute before we left for the day, and pile up a plate full of food, and I especially loved the sad little look on her face when she had to leave it behind. I loved being the first people out and about, watching stores open up as the sun rose higher. I loved the crazy weather, seeing the peak of Karphi emerge from the mist, relaxing in the hot sun on the rocks at Aliki, and splashing through puddles at Knossos. I loved seeing a soaked-to-the-skin Ani standing next to a dry-as-a-bone Melissa, one in a t-shirt and the other in full rain gear. I loved our guest lecturers, who told us about “bwothels in the wed wight distwict” and smoked cigarettes with reckless abandon. I loved scrambling over boulders and ancient foundation walls and modern security fences. I loved the wildlife, from tadpoles to puppies to very dead goats. I loved Evan’s scooter accident scars, and I loved the incessant coughs of Liz, Leslie, Katie, and Sarah Jones. I loved our endless boat and bus rides and the amazing scenery which sped past. I loved jumping off the back of the Naxos ferry. But most of all I loved football, and I loved the ladies. I SO MUCH loved the ladies.
