Texts Developed and/or Compiled at Dartmouth |

This section is under the supervision and management of Professor Hua-yuan Li Mowry. Every Text developed and/or compiled at Dartmouth is presented in three versions: text using traditional characters (and pinyin sans tone-marks); text using simplified characters (and pinyin sans tone-marks); and each of the preceding in graphical-format (GIF with pinyin cum tone-marks). We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Proverbs
Developed under a grant from the Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning, this section includes some 2,500 common Chinese proverbs and sayings, all taken from the 1933 collection, A Complete Collection of Popular Proverbs as compiled by Zhu Yuzun.

Traditional Texts for Children and Young Adults
Developed under a grant from the Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning, this section includes four traditional primer texts: The Three-character Classic, The Thousand-character Text, One Hundred Surnames, and Girls Classic.

Voice
This section links to the texts that have a voice component. This section is expanding, as we continue to complement the texts with ever more "readings" in putonghua.
