ARRA Summer Research Experience:

In summer 2009 and summer 2010 Dartmouth Medical School and the Section of Biostatistics and Epidemiology welcomed high school and college students from across the country to assist with study development and day-to-day tasks associated with Project 4 of The New Hampshire Birth Cohort Study. The students accelerated the tempo of the research by developing several data analysis tools, data management code and protocol, data entry screens, study questionnaires, SAS programming, data entry, scanning and other day-to-day tasks supporting our research assistants and coordinators. The students showed great initiative and a superb work ethic by maintaining a rigorous routine to keep up with the significant amount of study data collected and tasks assigned. The ARRA summer research experience was made possible by the National Institute of Environmental Health Science and the Environmental Protection Agency in support of a formative center at Dartmouth, The Children's Environmental Health and Disease Prevention Center. We thank the students for their time and hard work.
