Toxicity I2 is toxic if ingested. Do not pipet by mouth. Chemical Burns 0.5 M HCl, cyclohexanone, can cause burns. Avoid contact with skin. Rinse immediately with water, if spill occurs. Wear gloves. If you spill a reagent on your gloves or if gloves become discolored or develop holes, remove them, wash your hands and get a new pair. Flammability, Fumes, and Personal Exposure Cyclohexanone and acetone are flammable. No open flames or sparks should be present in the lab. Cyclohexanone can be absorbed through the skin and by inhalation. Wear gloves, avoid breathing the vapors, keep all containers covered. Clean up any spills on lab benches or near dispensing containers immediately. Waste Disposal Reaction mixtures and excess cyclohexanone and triiodide solution should be placed in the labeled waste drums. | ||
