Eye Protection
Goggles must be worn at all times in the laboratory.

Chemical Exposure
The solid forms of Dye A and Dye B are irritants and toxic. The solutions used have extremely low concentrations, but it is prudent to wear gloves when handling them. The food dye solutions and drinks contain dyes in concentrations approved by the FDA for human consumption. None of the drinks used in the experiment should be consumed, due to the possibility of contamination from lab glassware. Wash your hands before leaving the lab.

Waste Disposal
Solutions of Dye A and Dye B should be disposed of in the labeled waste drums. Solutions of food dyes and drink mix can be flushed down the drain.
