The Department is fortunate to be able to host two endowed distinguished lecture series that bring outstanding chemists to campus for two-day, two-lecture visits. Listed below are descriptions of these series and the speakers who have presented lectures under them.
The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Lectures
Our Dreyfus Lecture series, inaugurated in 1968 and made possible through funding from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, brings distinguished chemists in all areas of chemistry to Dartmouth.

The Robert M. and Martha W. Ross Lectures
Made possible by a generous endowment from Adjunct Professor Robert M. Ross, the Ross Lecture Series brings distinguished lecturers to Dartmouth primarily in the broad areas at the interface of chemistry and biology. Prior to 1998, this series was named The Dartmouth Lectures in Chemistry.
