The Dartmouth Centers Forum presents a major event during each term of the academic year in support of the current theme. In the fall of 2007, Pulitzer Prize winner David Shipler '64 delivered the introductory lecture for the DCF's "Class Divide" theme. In the winter, the Ethics Institute coordinated a campus lecture by award winning journalist and best-selling author Barbara Ehrenreich. In the spring, the Hood Museum opened its exhibit "Felix de la Concha: Private Portraits/Public Conversations".

The Dartmouth Centers Forum was pleased to work with the Ethics Institute to co-sponsor the award winning journalist Barbara Ehrenreich's visit to campus. Ms. Ehrenreich has written on a wide range of issues, from the military to feminism, to economic injustice. She is the author of such books as Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America and Bait and Switch.

His latest book, The Working Poor: Invisible in America, was a national best-seller in 2004 and 2005. It was a finalist for the 2005 National Book Critics Circle Award and the New York Public Library Helen Bernstein Award. It won an Outstanding Book Award from The Myers Center for the Study of Bigotry and Human Rights at Simmons College and led to his receipt of awards from the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, the New York Labor Communications Council, and the D.C. Employment Justice Center
