Theme

Since its founding, the DCF has coordinated programming on three other themes in addition to Conflict and Reconciliation. In 2007-2008, we partnered with the Hopkins Center for the Arts on its theme of Class Divide which focused on contemporary meanings and perceptions of "class" as well as on the current relevance of "class" as a term of political and social analysis.

In 2006-2007 our theme was Freedom and Technology. The events in this series examined the nexus of freedom and technology to better understand how humanity and technology may best interact and coexist.

Our first theme was Religion and Politics. The purpose of this theme was to examine the consequences of the intermingling of religion and politics on issues such as democracy, civil and human rights, the boundaries between public and private realms, the roles of governments and individuals, and the separation of church and state.

The Dartmouth Centers Forum always welcomes the participation of the entire Dartmouth community in addressing its programmatic themes.
