Areas of Expertise

Scientific work at Dartmouth's Center for Environmental Health Sciences is interdisciplinary, drawing on the specialized knowledge of faculty in three broad areas of training expertise: Molecular Toxicology, Epidemiology and Children's Health and Health-Environment Interactions.


Molecular Toxicology examines the effects of environmental chemicals on human health at the cellular and molecular level.

Epidemiology and Children's Health studies the health effects of environmental agents in populations of people.

Epidemiology and Children's Health Group:



Health-Environment Interactions conducts field and laboratory studies on the fate, transport and gene-environment interactions of environmental agents with known risks to human health.
