Research: Jack Bodwell's research focuses on glucocorticoid-mediated gene expression and the role of steroid hormones in normal and pathophysiological processes including diabetes, vascular disease and cancer. In particular, he is interested in endocrine disruption caused by low levels of arsenic on the expression of genes normally modulated by steroid hormones. Research focuses on glucocorticoids and its receptor as a model system to investigate both positive and negative disruptions by arsenic.
