Bio 4 Grading Policy

ALL exams requiring re-evaluation must be returned at the window in the Biology Office no later than 4:00 PM on the first Friday following return of the exam.

The following points summarize the grading procedures with respect to exams:

[1] All exam questions are graded by the professors and graduate TAs using the professors' answer key, which is posted on the Bio 4 web site.

[2] If, after looking over your exam and at the posted answer key, you find an error in the grading of one or more of the questions, you must observe the following procedures:

a) Return your exam to the Biology office within the specified time limit. No exams will be considered after the time limit has passed. It is your responsibility to get the regrade request in on time.

b) Arithmetic errors will be corrected and recorded immediately.

c) Create a clearly written or typed (Macintosh) note containing the following: (i) your name, (ii) the question number which you believe was graded incorrectly, and (iii) an explanation of why you feel your answer is correct.

d) The sheet containing the regrade requests should be attached to your exam.

Be sure that your answer agrees with the answer key. We will regrade only the question(s) you submit. Regrading means that your answer will be reevaluated and a new grade assigned.

The re-evaluation process will take about 1 week. We will Blitz you when your exam has been regraded. The regraded exams will be available in the Biology office.

After the grace period has expired, we will no longer accept questions regarding suspected errors in grading so be sure to get the requests in on time.
