1. Models of Infectious Disease Agent Study Research Program (MIDAS), University of Pittsburgh Med School

The MIDAS Summer Undergraduate Research Program will be held May 21­July 27, 2012. Through this ten-week Summer Research Program, participants will gain an appreciation of major research questions being raised at the intersection of public health, biological science, and computer technology. 2. Research in Wireless Communications (REU), Montana State University

The Research Experience for Undergraduates program at Montana State University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering runs from June 4-August 10, 2012. Some program highlights include: $4,000 stipend, housing at MSU, meal allowance, state of the art wireless research facilities, faculty-student mentoring, and weekend outings and social activities. 3. AWIS Internship Program: Washington, DC

The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) takes great interest in helping young women gain skills compatible with their studies in science technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Our program allows women seeking careers in STEM to explore and develop expertise that can be applied across all disciplines.

4. Industry Program Intern, American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy; Seattle, WA (Postgrad)

ACEEE, a leading national nonprofit research organization based in Washington, D.C., seeks an intern for its Industry Program, to work in industrial energy efficiency policy and combined heat and power, in Seattle, Washington. ACEEE is dedicated to advancing and deploying energy efficiency technologies, policies, and programs as a means of promoting economic prosperity, energy security, and environmental protection.  This is a 6 week internship.

5. Natural Resources Defense Council’s China Program Intern; Beijing

The interns will work within a specific project area and will learn how policy research and advocacy is carried out by a leading non-profit environmental organization. Interns will provide assistance in research and analysis of policies, drafting and editing of written materials, and implementation of project activities. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in internal and external meetings and discussions as appropriate. Deadline: March 1

7. Summer Student Research Program,  National Center for Toxicological Research

Summer research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students are available in Arkansas at the National Center for Toxicological Research. This program is designed for science and mathematics students preparing for future careers in toxicology, regulatory science, or related scientific disciplines. This 10-week summer program provides hands-on research and laboratory experience mentored by FDA scientists. Stipends are determined by the level of education.
