1. All Ivy Environmental & Sustainable Development Fair – Save The Date – 2/24/12
Network with employers. Learn about green jobs and internships. Learn how to make yourself a desirable candidate in a trending market. Register for the All Ivy Environmental & Sustainable Development Fair that will take place at Columbia University on February 24th, 2012. Each year students from Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Yale, UPenn, and Harvard convene in New York City to network with employers and learn about opportunities. 2. Roving Stewardship/Youth Program Internships – Northern Forest Canoe Trail (Summer)(NH/VT/NY) – PAID
Want to spend the summer outside? Consider either a Roving Stewardship or Youth Programs Internship with Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Roving Stewardship Interns will complete trail work along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, living in a tent with other interns, staff, and volunteers. Youth Program Interns will work with children ages 10-14 in a program developed to connect rural youth with their backyard waterways. Deadline: March 12th, 2012. Policy and Science Interns assist ELPC’s Senior Policy Advocates, Policy Associates, Communications Staff and Economists/Financial Analysts with a variety of tasks, including: work on clean energy projects across the Midwest and Great Plains, clean energy business development, promoting environmentally sustainable transportation policies and projects, preserving our natural resources and protecting our national forests, advancing global warming solutions, grass roots advocacy work, and special projects. 7. Ecology Internship(s) – Highstead Foundation (Summer)(Redding Center, CT) – PAID
Each student will participate in an on-going research project with Highstead’s Forest Ecologist. Responsibilities may include field sampling (recording deer browse, identifying and recording vegetation, coring trees), laboratory work (tree ring analysis, soil sieving), data entry, and analysis. 8. Sierra Club’s Environmental Apprenticeship Program (Post-Graduate)(Varied Locations) – DEADLINE: 2/24/2012
The Sierra Club Environmental Apprenticeship Program is designed for resourceful, conscientious and motivated individuals interested in legislation, media and community outreach as a means of promoting green initiatives. The Apprenticeship is a paid, six month staff position based in one of the Sierra Club’s offices. Apprentices will be exposed to a variety of work experiences including but not limited to grassroots organizing, administrative policy advocacy and public communications while being trained and guided by a team of experienced Sierra Club staff. The Worldwatch Institute and SustainUS have an immediate opening for a joint intern to assist both organizations with their preparations for the 2012 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (also known as Rio+20 or the Rio Earth Summit)!
