Curing complex supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias with radiofrequency catheter ablation requires superior technology. We have two fully equipped electrophysiology laboratories, one biplane and one flat-panel single plane. Both laboratories have the capacity for radiofrequency or cryoablation, and both have 3-D mapping capability.
Two types of 3-D mapping are available. The Endocardial Solutions non-contact mapping system includes an expandable array of 64 electrodes which generates over 3,000 virtual electrograms to map the endocardium of a given chamber in a single heart beat. A complimentary Biosense electroanatomic mapping system creates a voltage map of a given chamber, which identifies potential channels for reentry that can be targeted for catheter ablation. These 3-dimensional mapping systems offer precise non-fluoroscopic catheter navigation to critical target sites and additional confirmation of ablation success.
Intracardiac echocardiography is also utilized to facilitate complex ablations.
