Electrophysiology Lab: Services Offered

Inpatient Electrophysiology Services at DHMC provides state-of-the-art care in a broad area of cardiac electrophysiologic problems, including:

  • Prevention of sudden cardiac death using implantable defibrilators
  • Relief/cure of tachcardia using radiofrequency ablation
  • Improvement in heart failure symptoms with biventricular pacing
  • Diagnosis and management of syncope using electrophysiologic study, implantable loop recorders and head-up tilt table testing.
  • Implantation of pacemakers for bradycardia and advanced conduction system disease.

Outpatient electrophysiologic services include:

  • Atrial Fibrillation Clinic: Our clinic employs a multi-modality approach to difficult-to-manage atrial fibrillation using expert pharmacologic management, radiofrequency catheter ablation, and device implantation (including implantable defibrillators and AF suppressing pacemakers)
  • Pacemaker and ICD follow-up clinics
  • General outpatient consultative services for management of dysrhythmias and syncope.
  • Transtelephonic monitoring of patients with pacemakers
