Name of Trial: MAGIC – Monocyte Response to Hypoxia and Genetic Background in Patients with and Without Coronary Collateral Circulation

Description of Trial: The purpose of this study is to obtain blood donations from patients who are going to have a cardiac catheterization.

  • The study look at the cath lab films and make comparisons between patients who have this collateral blood vessel development and those who do not.
  • The study will look for differences in monocytes (cells in your body) which have been shown to stimulate production growth factors involved in new blood vessel growth.
  • The study will look at differences in genetic markers between the two groups (those who have collateral circulation and those who don’t).
