Cardiology Update Symposium 2007

DHMC Cardiology will host its 25th "Cardiology Update Symposium" on Monday December 3, 2007. Taking place in Auditoriums E&F at the main DHMC Campus, this year's symposium will be divided into two sections, including:

  • Topics in Cardiovascular Medicine: Focusing on topics in cardiovascular medicine of special interest to practicing internists and family practitioners including management of acute coronary syndromes, evaluation of the young athlete, cardiac surgery in the elderly, exercise in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, management of the hypertensive patient and evaluation and treatment of acute coronary syndromes.
  • Controversies in Cardiovascular Medicine: Focusing on common controversies, including surgical versus cath lab management of the patient with multi-vessel coronary artery disease, thrombolytic therapy versus PCI for acute MI, and maximum dose versus guideline based treatement of lipid disorders in the cardiac patient.
