Name of Trial: Camper - Clopidogrel and Aspirin in the Management of Peripheral Endovascular Revascularization

CPHS #: 16168

Start Date: April 2003

Estimated End Date: 2006

Description of Trial: The purpose of this trial is to compare the safety and effectiveness of the FDA approved study drug, clopidogrel, versus an inactive compound (placebo) in keeping leg arteries open after a angioplasty procedure for peripheral artery disease (PAD). All patients must be already scheduled for the angioplasty procedure. They will all receive usual medical treatment (i.e. aspirin) after the procedure in addition to the blinded study assigned treatment. They will be on study treatment from 3 to 30 months and require a total of 10 clinic visits.
