Prospective Graduate Students and post-docs:I am currently accepting student and post-doc applications.
Students: please e-mail a cover letter with research interests, research experience, GPA, and GRE scores to Ryan.Calsbeek@dartmouth.edu. I am open to having my graduate students develop independent dissertation research projects or work in close collaboration on current research in the lab. To be an effective advisor however, I feel that my students and I should share a broad interest in problems related to ecological or evolutionary consequences of natural and sexual selection. Students applying to the lab should be highly motivated, ready for a great deal of hard work, and should be very passionate about their work. At the same time, I encourage you to hold on to your human side.
Post-docs: please e-mail a cover letter with research experience and interests, CV, and two to three letters of reference. I am open to independent and collaborative research proposals and funding options are negotiable. I am currently seeking post-docs with experience using microsatellites, AFLP, and/or sequencing techniques to study population level processes in nature.
Looking for opportunities to do undergraduate research? I am currently looking for undergraduates that are interested in learning how to do research in the laboratory. Possible projects include learning the techniques involved in DNA extraction, microsatellite amplification, animal care, and animal husbandry. Please feel free to drop by the lab and chat, or email me with questions!
