Construction got off to a slow start but has picked up since. The basement has expanded to fit at least 4 tables comfortably. There is a new bed/alumni room on the first floor (and of course thousands of whippets were found in the wall between the tube room and coke closet). The second floor bathroom is completely destroyed and on the way to being rebuilt. The third floor is also changing, with an expanded chapter room and a new bedroom which will be called the Kitchen. The brothers have been putting in a few hours of their time and energy to the renovations at the house every Saturday since the beginning of summer term. As the youngest members of the Bones Gate legacy, we recognize the need to match generous alumni contributions with our sweat equity. Although the house may be closed for the summer, we know that the improvements undertaken this summer will make Bones Gate a better place to live in, socialize in, and visit for generations to come. The construction officially started late, on about the week of July 24, but has been progressing smoothly ever since. Basement walls have come down, the 2nd floor bathroom and the new 1st floor bathroom have been completely gutted, and the 2nd and 3rd floor hallway modifications have been started. In addition, the extention on the west end of the building has been progressing from the basement. The renovations on the existing structure should be completed by the beginning of fall term in mid-September, with the extention following one to two months later.
