Upgrade to Blackboard 7 - Review Status
Enabling the Review Status option for a given content item, allows students to mark whether or not they have reviewed the item.
A frequent question is how the Review Status feature differs from statistics tracking for an item. The two main differences are:
- the Review Status process is transparent to students and reminds them of their accountability. Students can see that their progress in the course is being tracked
- Review Status can be used as a basis for formulating Adaptive Release criteria. For example, you could release a lab assignment to students only if they have marked a posting of lab safety procedures as reviewed.
To enable Review Status for a content item, go to the Control Panel, and from there to any of the content areas for the course. Note the new Manage button sandwiched between the Modify, Copy and Remove buttons. Click on the Manage button next to the content item for which you want to enable Review Status.
On the next screen, click on Review Status
Set the toggle next to Review to "Enable", and click Submit.
Students will now see a button labeled "Mark Reviewed" next to the content item. Clicking this button will mark the item as reviewed.
To keep track of who has reviewed a content item, click on Adaptive Release and Review Status: User Progress. This will bring up a screen which lists all the students in the course. You will see a green checkmark next to the names of students who have marked the item as reviewed.
