Upgrade to Blackboard 7 - Quick tool linking
In Blackboard 7, it is possible to place a link to any Blackboard tool within any content area. For example, consider an assignment which requires a student submission to the Discussion Board. You could post a description of the assignment in the "Assignments" section of your web site, and then place a link to the Discussion Board tool immediately below it, so students will be able to find the tool easily, from within the context of the specific assignment which asks them to use the tool.
To create a tool link within a content area, go to the Control Panel and then click on any of the course's content areas. In the gray editing toolbar along the top of the page, locate the drop-down menu on the right. Select "Tool" from this menu, and then click the Go button.
On the next page, select the tool to which you wish to link, and click Next.
On the next page, you can override the tool's generic name with any name of your choosing, and type a brief description if you wish. Click Submit.
