Upgrade to Blackboard 7 - E-mail tool changes
There are two changes to the Send E-mail tool which directly affects users:
- The course code from the originating course is automatically added as a prefix to any message's subject line. For example, if a student were to use the Send E-mail tool to send a message titled "Question about final paper" to all of the users in her JWST.015.01-WI07 course, the subject line of the message received by all class members would actually read: JWST.015.01-WI07: Question about final paper. This should make it more easy for students, who are enrolled in multiple courses, to quickly identify and manage their Blackboard-related e-mail.
- Instructors have the option to check a box labeled "Return Receipt" when sending an e-mail from Blackboard. This will send a copy of the message to the sender, including a listing of all addressees. If this box is not checked, the sender will still receive a copy of the message, but without the list of addressees. This feature is useful for record keeping when sending e-mails from Blackboard to selected users or groups, rather than to the whole class.
