American Heart Association
From the national voluntary health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Is a general source for all matters of the heart, and related disease conditions such as stroke, diabetes, and cholesterol. Includes information about warning signs, a heart and stroke encyclopedia, publications and resources, and advocacy. Also offers health tools, including Risk Assessment, Treatment Decision Help, Exercise Diary, and Body Mass Index Calculator.
Clinical Trials
Provides patients, family members and members of the public current information about clinical research studies. Heart-related trials are listed under the disease heading "Heart and Blood Vessel Diseases."
Coumadin
Drug company sponsored, but resources cite credible sources and includes such information as dietary tips (be sure to maintain a diet rich in Vitamin K) and cautions regarding bleeding hazards.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Department of Cardiology
Includes information about staff, services, and research. Depression and Heart Disease National Institute of Mental Health
Research has shown that people with heart disease are more likely to suffer from depression than otherwise healthy people, and that people with depression are at greater risk for developing heart disease (Nemeroff CB, Musselman DL, Evans DL. Depression and cardiac disease. Depression and Anxiety, 1998; 8(Suppl 1): 71-9.). This site includes depression symptoms and facts about depression and heart disease.

National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (National Institutes of Health)
From the institute which provides oversight of a national program in diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung, and blood; blood resources; and sleep disorders. The site includes links to cardiovascular information for patients and the general public. National Women's Health Information Center
