Ethnomed: Ethnic Medicine Guide
From the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center. Contains information about cultural beliefs, medical issues, and other related issues pertinent to the health care of recent immigrants to Seattle or the US, many of whom are refugees fleeing war-torn parts of the world.
HealthWeb: Minority Health
A collaborative project of the health sciences libraries of the Greater Midwest Region (GMR) of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) and those of the Committee for Institutional Cooperation. Includes health information for African, Asian, Hispanic, and Native Americans.
National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute
"Prevent High Blood Pressure" booklet online. One of a series of seven easy-to-read booklets on "Improving Cardiovascular Health in African Americans" available in their entirety on this website.
Office of Minority Health (OMH)
The mission of OMH is "to improve the health of racial and ethnic populations through the development of effective health policies and programs that help to eliminate disparities in health." Includes information about public health issues affecting American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders, African Americans, and Hispanics/Latinos.
