From the American College of Rheumatology, the professional organization of rheumatologists and associated health professionals. This direct link to "Information for Patients & Public" includes fact sheets (disease-specific information on rheumatic diseases) and "briefing papers" on information about caregivers. Also includes a list of assistance programs for certain rheumatology-related drugs, along with links to additional information about programs through other sources.
Arthritis Foundation
The Arthritis Foundation supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions with advocacy, programs, services and research. This web site includes a disease center, drug guide, diet and nutrition information, alternative therapies, sports injury prevention, and lifestyle issues for children and adults.
National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases
The mission of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases is to support research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases, the training of basic and clinical scientists to carry out this research, and the dissemination of information on research progress in these diseases. Includes links to information about rheumatic diseases (e.g., osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis), news information, clinical trials, and research updates.
