laflunomide

The question was

"My preceptor and I are interested in finding out
more information on a new drug, laflunomide, for rheumatoid
arthritis."

Reference Librarian comments

That was a TOUGHIE! I struck out in MEDLINE, and then went on a
major fishing expedition. First I went to the DHMC's "Clinical
Pharamacology Online" and didn't find it. Then I went to several
other drug look-up databases on the internet and didn't find it.
Finally, I found it in http://www.rxlist.com/ -- and then it
dawned on me to go to a special bibliographic database that I can get
to, but you can't (EMBASE Pharmaceutical Information). I'll include
some of what I found at the end of this message. The moral I'd take
from this particular search would be to be sure to consider asking
for help. (Never trust your MEDLINE search. There's always another
way-to-search, or in a case like this, a totally different
resource...) A computer-savvy pharmacist, or a medical reference
librarian can many times get at elusive drug information.
