Research Guide: Survey Development Resources

Do you plan or create surveys? Wondering how to ask the right questions and eliminate bias? This Library Grand Rounds addressed these and other aspects of survey development. We covered appropriate uses of surveys, how to write effective survey questions, and strategies to boost response rates. We briefly highlighted features of SurveyMonkey, a popular online survey tool.

This Grand Rounds was presented by Gavin Henning, PhD, and Pamela Bagley, PhD. Gavin is Director of Student Affairs Planning, Evaluation, and Research for Dartmouth, and helps faculty and administrators evaluate their impact on teaching and research. He has taught assessment and survey development to graduate students, faculty, and staff, and has presented on these topics at national conferences. Pamela is a Research and Education Librarian at the Biomedical Libraries and an instructor of the Libraries' SurveyMonkey workshops.
