Handout: Google and Beyond: New Ways to Search the Web (PDF)

We've all bookmarked Google and we're reasonably comfortable with how it works. But now there's Google-Scholar and other specialized Googles, plus many other search engines to try. Surf to A9, Yahoo, AskJeeves, Teoma, and search engines which do interesting "visualization" tricks with your results.

This Library Grand Rounds featured Tom Mead, MLS, of the Dartmouth Biomedical Libraries. He provided a fun, fast-paced tour of the major search-engines available to all of us.

Library Grand Rounds are a forum for presenting information resources and tools of interest to Dartmouth clinicians. Please contact Karen Odato, the Libraries' Education Coordinator, if you have questions, comments or suggestions for future Library Grand Rounds.
