After graduation, many Dartmouth biology majors enter graduate programs in biological sciences (e.g., molecular genetics, cell biology, ecology) or professional school (e.g. medical, dental, veterinary, public health, law, genetic counseling, and bioethics). Others enter the teaching profession or take jobs with environmental consulting firms, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnological industries or government agencies.
In short, there are MANY career options for those interested in biology, far too many for us to attempt to describe them here. Instead, we've collected a number of resources here that may should be useful to you. We also encourage you to contact an appropriate faculty member in the department for advice about pursuing a career in the biological sciences.
