What's in Bloom?

phramgrande

Phragmipedium Grande is a striking primary hybrid (Phrag. caudatum x Phrag. longifolium) first registered by J Veitch & Sons in 1881, and the grex is still frequently awarded today. Both parents are native to Northern South America and are found in seepage areas. Petals on our plant are approaching 10" in length, and this plant will remain in bloom for months.

Dendrobium Gatton Sunray, FCC/RHS is a beloved old hybrid (Den. pulchellum x Den. Illustre) registered in 1919 by Sir Jeremiah Colman of Gatton Park, Great Britain. It's a reliable spring bloomer, faithfully putting on it's show in late March and Early April. The FCC/RHS designates that this clone was awarded a 'First Class Certificate' for highest flower quality by the Royal Horticultural Society. Photo Credit Joe Mehling '69
