Not to be confused with the Grad Recruiting Happy Cap (see previous post), PBS successfully hosted some of the nation’s best and brightest prospective grad students over Valentine’s Day Weekend. Although the weekend was largely viewed a success, there were a few moments that made us less than proud. Of particular note, Graduate Chair Paul Whalen’s overview of the Graduate Program’s curriculum, requirements, and expectations devolved into a thirty-plus minute infomercial on the virtue of studying the amygdala.

Not at Dartmouth. The PBS faculty (both men and women) has a proud new tradition of sharing graduate student Dylan Wagner’s hat (The Happy Cap) during Graduate Recruiting Weekend.

Former grad student, Leah Somerville, was spotted in the lab on Friday according to eyewitness accounts. It is still unclear whether she was simply visiting or whether she was kicked out of her post-doc with BJ Casey. DEVELOPING…
The Kelley lab was at the pies this past weekend at the 5th Annual Heatherton Pie Baking Festival. This year’s best pie, “Speedo Pie” by former PBS grad student Brian Russ.

Yes, we know…it’s a template…it’s going to be changed. Blame Kate Demos, former grad student turned post-doc who apparently thinks running subjects is more important than the new website design.
UPDATE: We’ve fixed the generic template graphic with a nice soothing brain imaging collage.
