Wednesday afternoon activities
We have several activities planned for Wednesday afternoon. Please sign up at the form below if you are interested in taking part in one of these. Spaces may be limited, so precedence will be given to those who signed up earlier. In addition to these, other possiblilities include a round of golf at the Hanover Country Club right on campus, or a visit to the Hanover Area Farmer's Market on the Green.
Hiking trip to Mount Cardigan: Leaves at lunchtime on Wednesday
for the 40 minute drive to Mt Cardigan, returning in early to mid-evening. The roughly 3 to 4-hour
hike offers classic New England trails and fantastic views from
the bare rocky summit. The hike is moderately strenuous and good
footwear (hiking boots or other sturdy shoes) is essential. The cost
will be approximately $15 to cover transportation and logistics.
Canoeing on the Connecticut River: Meet after lunch on Wednesday at the Ledyard Canoe Club,
just down the path from the dorm on the Connecticut River, where you
can rent canoes. Students from Ledyard will lead a paddling
tour to some of the best sights along the river. The cost will be
approximately $15 for canoe rentals.
Tour of the Hood Museum of Art: Meet at 2:30pm on Wednesday at the excellent Hood Museum of Art on the Dartmouth campus, for a one-hour tour of the highlights of the museum's collection. The tour is free.
