About Dartmouth and Hanover

Dartmouth College is a member of the Ivy League and is one of the oldest universities in the United States. The Department of Physics & Astronomy has a range of active research programs in astronomy, cosmology, space physics, and nuclear, plasma, and condensed matter physics.

Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, a small town in the beautiful Upper Valley of the Connecticut River two hours from Boston, and is consistently ranked one of the best small towns in which to live in the country.
