Montshire Museum of Science - Hands on exhibits allow kids to explore wildlife, the wonders of space, nature and technology. The exhibits are constantly changing so there is always something to see and do. The Montshire Museum offers beautiful picnic areas and nature trails along the Connecticut River that are linked to the Appalachian Trail. To reserve free tickets for you and your little sibling, go to the Tucker Foundation at least two days prior to going. Located in Norwich VT, the Montshire Museum is on the Montshire Road off West Wheelock St. just past the bridge. A short five minute drive from campus.

Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College - The Museum Education Department at the Hood offers many activities for children throughout the year. Every Saturday morning the Museum offers tours designed to introduce children to art by examining the current exhibits. You can also take your little sibling on your own tour to introduce him/her to a little bit of art and have him/her read the captions under each painting.

Shattuck Observatory at Dartmouth College - Take your little sibling to look at the stars and planets from this campus observatory built in 1854. Fall and winter are the best times to see. Open Tuesday and Thursday evenings weather permitting, or by appointment.

Vermont Institute of Natural Science and Raptor Center - Outdoor museum in Woodstock, VT housing about 40 different birds. There are self-guiding tour materials and a mile and a half nature trail with excellent views.

Webster Cottage at Dartmouth College - Hanovers second oldest building, built in 1780 as the home for the daughter of Eleazar Wheelock. Daniel Webster lived here as a senior at Dartmouth. Contains some Shaker furniture and other antiques.
Open Memorial Day to Columbus Day on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm.

Billings Farm and Museum in Woodstock, VT - A working dairy and museum of late nineteenth century Vermont. Demonstrations of home life activities during this period as well as a library and exhibits of over 30,000 antique artifacts. There are milking demonstrations late in the afternoons. There are picnic tables so you can take sack lunches to eat there with your little sibling. There is an annual Childrens Day that takes place each August.

Other - Take your little sibling to one of the pet stores in the area. Particularly good is the pet store in the K-Mart parking lot in West Lebanon. You can take your sibling here to see all kinds of fish, reptiles, birds, dogs, cats, rodents and just about anything you can imagine. Its really great fun; you can spend hours in there with your little sibling.
