• Learn how to knit with your little sibling. You can become part of the Knitters Guild and meet once a month to learn new stitches etc. Call Ruth Young 643-4488 if you want to become part of the guild, or just try to take it up on your own.
  • Go to any of the art workshops at the Hood Museum. These usually take place twice each month. See Hood bulletin and publications for more information.
  • The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen sponsors classes year-round in many crafts. Crafts include pottery, basket weaving, papier mache, rug hooking, jewelry, weaving, and stained glass. Call 643-5050 for more information. It would be great to learn a new craft with your little sibling.
  • Make jewelry at the Jewelry Shop in the Hopkins Center. New earrings, bracelets, necklaces.
  • Teach your little sibling how to play an instrument if you know how. There are pianos in several of the dorms.
  • Make hair scrunchies or other hair ornaments.
  • Make a kite and then fly it on a warm spring, summer or fall day. There is also a kite in the Tucker Foundation Toy Chest if you would like to use that one.
  • Make a a pinata on your little sibling's birthday.
  • Make a collage by cutting out pictures from old magazines and newspapers. The dorm recycling centers are a great source for stuff.
  • Make your own paper and stationery if you have access to a blender.
  • Go to Kiewit and scan pictures of yourself and your little sibling to make cards or stationery.
  • Fingerpainting is especially popular with the younger sibs.
  • Show your little sibling how to make tie-dyed t-shirts. Also, you can buy puffy paints and make designs on a t-shirt.
  • For Easter, get together with your little sibling and dye Easter eggs. You only need some food coloring and vinegar; alternately, painting packets are not that expensive.
  • Make friendship bracelets with your little sibling and exchange them when you are done.
  • Start a hobby with your little sibling. Easy and not very costly: stamp collecting. See how many different stamps you can come up with at the end of the year.
  • Have your little sibling help you decorate your room when you first arrive on campus after an off-term.
  • Make your own birthday cards, Mothers' Day cards, Halloween and Valentine's day cards.
  • Build a model with your sibling!
  • Make a collage of pictures of you and your little sibling to hang in your little sibling's room.
  • Use MacDraw or MacPaint to make stationary, cards, or a picture to take to the teacher or family.
  • Plant a flower, bush or tree in your little sibling's yard and watch it grow over the course of your match.
  • Cut flowers and make an arrangement for your little sibling's room or even your room.
  • Press some flowers and leaves. Start a collection or just use it to make stationary or for another art project.
