Southern African Large Telescope
Dartmouth College has a 10% share of the Southern African Large
Telescope, which is currently being constructed in the Great Karoo
desert in South Africa. When completed in mid-2005, Dartmouth faculty will
be guaranteed access to 26 clear nights per year on the largest single
telescope in the southern hemisphere.
